Frequently Asked Questions
Moso is close to Efate but quieter, with beaches and snorkelling rather than town life. You can visit as a day trip or stay overnight, then return to Port Vila's services. It is Efate's calm neighbour, not a replacement for the capital.
Santo is a large island with wrecks, blue holes and days of inland travel. Moso is a small, close-in island for swimming, snorkelling and a slower night away from town. Do not come to Moso expecting Santo's WWII or hiking list.
Efate is the natural pairing, because most Moso trips start from there. You can add Lelepa, Nguna or Pele on other days if you want more of Shefa's close islands. There is little reason to treat Moso as a standalone long-haul destination.
Choose Moso when you want a quieter beach and snorkel island without leaving the Efate area. It is an easy step beyond the resort strip, with overnight bungalow options if you want a night of stillness. Permission and a local boat still matter.
