Main urban centers - Port Vila and Luganville

These are where the big resorts offering overwater bungalows, beachfront, and waterfront villas, deluxe room suites set on tropical gardens, fine dining restaurants, pools, spa facilities, conference venues for business groups and inhouse activities and services for travelers who seek an opulent holiday, as well as smaller boutique resorts and hotels found near shopping, dining and other major attractions.

The rest of our islands

You will find many of the island bungalows built from local materials from traditional to semi-modern island-style, accommodating our visitors in the outer islands to allow guests experience the unique and real Vanuatu away from the commercial tourism centres. Bungalows offer cooked meals, and are kept clean & tidy with basic amenities. Bungalow managers help organize tours and activities for their guests and are mostly owned and managed by local communities in the islands.

Frequently Asked Questions

Port Vila puts you by the harbour, markets, restaurants, and easy transport. Stays elsewhere on Efate are quieter, more beach-focused, and usually need a tour, taxi, or hire car to reach town. You trade evening choice for swimming and space. Many visitors split the island, or take day trips from Vila so they can have both.
Life becomes smaller and slower, with meals, activities, and transport arranged through your hosts and shops kept limited. You will use cash, watch the weather, and often go to bed earlier. The gain is closer contact with village life and landscapes that still feel lightly visited. It is a different holiday, not a lesser version of Vila.
In Port Vila and Luganville you can decide most things on the day. Away from those centres, tours depend on boats, 4WDs, and whether a guide is free, and menus are whatever the kitchen can serve. Airport and airstrip location also matters; a beautiful bay can still be a long, rough transfer. Ask how you will move before you fall in love with a photo.
Port Vila is generally considered a safe capital for visitors if you use ordinary city sense. Do not flash valuables, and at night take a taxi or minibus rather than walking isolated stretches. The waterfront and busy streets feel easy by day. As in any town, stay aware, use registered taxis, and look after phones and bags; most guests move around without trouble.
