Le Trail Pacific Energy is a thrilling trail running event in Vanuatu that combines endurance, adventure and breathtaking island scenery. Designed for runners and outdoor enthusiasts, the event offers an unforgettable experience through some of Vanuatu’s beautiful natural surroundings. More than just a race, it is a celebration of community, challenge and the vibrant energy of the islands.

A Truly Popular and Inclusive Event

As the largest sporting activity in Port Vila in terms of participation, Le Trail Pacific Energy brings together people from all ethnicities and ages—from young children to seniors. We are committed to inclusivity and actively work to attract participants from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. To accommodate everyone, we offer three different trails at each event, making it a true family activity.

Core Mission and Values

Our primary goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle by encouraging sport, physical activity, and movement. Furthermore, the event strongly emphasizes unity and diversity, aiming to strengthen community bonds. With 700–800 participants in our past events, we anticipate reaching 1,000 participants in the near future—a significant milestone for our city.

Sustainable and Community-Driven

Health, sport, nature, and community building are central to the event. Le Trail Pacific Energy is 100% privately financed, operating without public funds. Each participant pays a small symbolic fee (with sponsorship available to remove barriers), while the majority of the cost is covered by our generous sponsors: Pacific Energy, Titan FX, AJC Vanuatu, 83 Islands Distillery, Pacific Private Bank and Au Bon Marche as the newest sponsor this year 2026. Our sponsors demonstrate their commitment by also involving their staff in the organization of the event.

Frequently Asked Questions

The calendar mixes kastom ceremonies, music festivals and sport. Land diving on Pentecost, the Rom dances of Ambrym, Fest'Napuan and Fete de la Musique sit alongside rodeos, rallies and community celebrations. Port Vila has the densest public programme, while outer-island events follow village seasons. Check the Vanuatu Tourism Office events listing when you plan dates.
Kastom festivals are not staged extras; they mark harvest, rank, faith and island identity. Nagol land diving, Rom dance and island music nights show how ceremony, church and contemporary culture share the same year. Visitors are usually welcome when they come respectfully and follow local guidance. Arriving for a named festival is one of the best ways to see living tradition.
Town concerts, markets and advertised festivals are straightforward if you are already in Port Vila or Luganville. Village ceremonies may need an invitation, a guide or a custom fee, and dates can shift. Book travel early for well-known events such as land diving, and ask the Vanuatu Travel Information Centre or your host about access. Do not arrive unannounced at a private ceremony.
