When planning your stay in Vanuatu, one of the most memorable experiences is staying in a tropical bungalow. These unique accommodations immerse you in nature and provide an idyllic setting to enjoy your holiday.
Why a locally owned bungalow:-
- How better to connect to Ni-Vanuatu families
- Are in some of the best and most beautiful locations
- Supports a vibrant and sustainable local tourism industry run Ni-Vanuatu Enterprenuers
Tips to help you book your bungalow.
1. Direct Booking
The first option is to book directly with the establishments. Many bungalow owners have an email address or a phone number. Most bungalows and local operators will have a social media page - most likely Facebook.
It is best to discuss your needs directly with the owner or manager. To access a listing of island bungalows, you can visit the Vanuatu Tourism Office website: Accommodation Listing.
Tips for Direct Booking:
-
Check availability: Most island bungalows do not have websites or are not listed on online travel booking sites. Therefore, it is not possible to check availability online for most of them. Do not hesitate to contact them directly to confirm if they have availability on your desired dates and make your reservation.
-
Ask questions: Request information about included services, rates, cancellation policy, included meals, hot/cold water, etc.
2. Go Through a Vanuatu Travel Information Center (VTIC)
Many bungalows do not have regular internet access, so it is easier to go through a travel centre managed by the Vanuatu Tourism Office to make your reservation. These Vanuatu Travel Information Centers are located in Port Vila Efate, Luganville Espiritu Santo, Lenakel in Tanna, and Lakatoro in Malekula. The friendly staff will be able to help you organise your stay.
Advantages of Using the VTIC services:
-
Personalised assistance: Local travel agents know the area well and can recommend bungalows suited to your preferences and budget.
-
Access to up-to-date information: They can provide accurate information about availability and booking conditions.
-
Simplified booking: By using a Travel Information Center, you avoid the stress of booking and can ask all your questions directly to a professional. Payment for your stay will be made at the VTIC to avoid misunderstandings and simplify arrangements.
