Torba Province

Torba

Torba

The TORBA Province is the northernmost province of Vanuatu, made up of the Banks Islands and the Torres Islands. It sits above the SANMA Province. The province's name derives from the initial letters of TORres and BAnks.

The province has a population of approximately 9,500 people and an area of 882 km². Its capital is Sola on Vanua Lava.

As Torba is only just becoming part of the international tourism scene within the last 2 years, so you can be sure that the experiences you have there are rare and unique! The quality of accommodation and tours on offer is world class and we encourage everyone to visit this untouched part of the world.

Geographically, Torba reaches north and west to the Solomon Islands as with all of Vanuatu, the main islands are volcanic in origin with active volcanoes on Gaua and Vanua Lava islands.

The islands are relatively small and most attractions are easy to walk to; explore white sand beaches and coral reefs around west Mota Lava and Ra or climb the massive rocks on Ra, or climb the Sleeping Mountain on Mota Lava with beautiful island bungalows dispersed across the islands.
